Official Bio
Colleen is lifetime resident of Louisiana who earned her B.A. degree in secondary English education from the University of New Orleans in 1990. She later earned her M.A. in English with add-on certification in gifted education from Southeastern Louisiana University. She currently teaches courses in college composition and critical reading, gifted English III and IV—American and British literature, respectively—and on-level English III. Additionally, Colleen is a self-taught artist whose original work emerges from a desire to understand and deepen her connection to the creative energy that permeates all forms of life. Married with two adult daughters and a high maintenance dog named Opal, Colleen enjoys running and hiking the trails near her neighborhood, despite Louisiana’s summer heat and humidity. In the Ether: A Memoir of Holding Space is her first book.
